This free event promises a weekend of history, fun, and community. This beloved fundraiser, run entirely by volunteers, supports the upkeep of our museums. Join Kim & John Wright as they make handmade apple butter over an open fire in their copper kettle on Saturday. Join us on Sunday and purchase some of the delicious apple butter!

Terrie Schultz has been joining us and sharing her skills at Log Cabin Days for over 30 years.

Patricia Jean Sarell, one of the longest participating crafters at Log Cabin Days, will be demonstrating quilting.

Walk the Blakeslee Boardwalk
The boardwalk at Blakeslee Log Cabin was originally built in the 1990's and became unsafe in 2019, then restricted from visitors. It eventually washed away in 2021 following a storm. Join us as we debut the newly constructed boardwalk and connect with the historic grounds.
Log Cabin Tours
Tours of Blakeslee Log Cabin given by members & volunteers of the Historical Society.  Learn about immigrant populations that came to Ashtabula in 1810 and the families that lived in the Cabin all the way up until the 1980s!

ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS

Petting Zoo
Will be here with a mini horse and a , and the ashtabula County Animal Protective League will be joining us with onsite animals available for adoption.
"Back in the Day" Games
Imagine the laughter of children playing Cat’s Cradle, the quick spin of a whirligig, and the satisfying clack of checkers on a handmade board. At Back in the Day Games, hosted by the Daughters of the American Revolution: Stanley Redmond Harper Chapter in old-time dress, your family can take a step back in time. Bring the family dressed in your own old-time outfits for an unforgettable hands-on history experience.

No experience needed—just a passion for fun, history and community! This beloved fundraiser, run entirely by volunteers & members, supports the upkeep of our museums. Our volunteers & members are crucial to helping us protect and celebrate the rich stories of Ashtabula County. When you volunteer your time with ACHS you’ll become a part of our community. Join us to make 2025 Log Cabin Days the best year yet!

WELCOME VENDORS

Regularly attracting over 1,000 visitors per day with good weather! We invite artisans, crafters, and local producers to showcase their talents and contribute to our vibrant community tradition!

  • Handmade crafts (basket weavers, wool spinners, broom-makers,wood carvers)
  • Artisan goods (soaps, candles, pottery, textiles)
  • Locally grown produce or food products(preserves, honey, baked goods, NO hot food)
  • Vintage or Historically themed items encouraged – not required (manual tools, artifacts, nature-related)

Booth: Standard booth spaces are 10×10 feet. $20 for the weekend, $10 for the day. Larger spaces may be available upon request, subject to availability. This is an entirely outdoor event, held rain or shine.

ABOUT THE VENU

Blakeslee Log Cabin

One of Ohio’s original log cabins, built in 1810 by John Blakeslee a year after he arrived from Connecticut. Blakeslee is the oldest log cabin in its original form and on its original foundation in the Western Reserve. This log house has been home to three immigrant families since that time. The Blakeslee Log Cabin was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Ashtabula County Historical Society is the second oldest historical society still active in Ohio – formed in 1838. An entirely volunteer run nonprofit, eleven-member volunteer board comprises the primary decision-making body of Ashtabula County Historical Society.
